BT’s annual show in concert is part of our Concert Series. This is a fast-moving process which requires performers to work on their material at home and remain flexible regarding changes and creative problem solving during rehearsal.

SYNOPSIS:
Con man, Harold Hill, poses as a boys' band organizer and leader. He sells band instruments and uniforms to naïve Midwestern townsfolk, promising to train the members of the new band. Harold is no musician, however, and plans to skip town without giving any music lessons. Prim librarian and piano teacher Marian sees through him, but when Harold helps her younger brother overcome his lisp and social awkwardness, Marian begins to fall in love with him. He risks being caught to win her heart.

CASTING: Seeking 14-16 performers of varying ages, sizes, races, & ethnicities. Performers auditioning for Winthrop or Amaryllis must be 10+; all other performers must be 18+. Many secondary characters will be doubled with the Pickalittle Ladies and the School Board (barbershop quartet). Casting for the concert series is not as type-restricted as with a typical production (you’ll see a big age range for most roles). The primary consideration is the music.
