THE AUDITION:

BY APPOINTMENT ONLY — please email info@blackfriars.org to schedule your appointment no later than Friday, August 21st at 12pm (noon).

Auditions will take place in two 60-minute groups with a dance call between them (artists wishing to be considered for ONLY Jeanette and Nathan do not need to attend the dance call). You will be assigned a group at the time of your appointment request—we will do our best to accommodate time constraints/group requests.

Please arrive familiar with the musical and the characters. There is a link to a PDF of the libretto at the bottom of this page. THIS SCRIPT CONTAINS SENSITIVE CONTENT—PLEASE READ THE CONTENT DISCLOSURE PRIOR TO AUDITIONING.

THE NITTY-GRITTY:
Group A will sing from 6:00-7:00pm and then dance with Group B from 7:00pm-8:00pm. Group B will start with a combined dance call at 7:00pm, then sing from 8:00-10pm. Both groups will sing in the order in which they arrive and sign in. A dance audition prep video will be provided in the links below on Saturday, August 15th.
*Note from casting: these characters are not supposed to be great dancers—personality and character choices matter just as much as the moves.

Please prepare two 16- to 22-bar cuts of musical theatre selections in the style of the show that display your comfortable vocal range and strong character/acting choices (comedic/contemporary selections suggested). Come with sheet music in a binder and in the correct key. Please do not sing from the show, and do not sing a cappella. You may only be asked to sing one piece. Appropriate dance attire includes sneakers, character shoes/boots, jazz shoes, jazz sneakers/boots, or ballet slippers.

Please bring a headshot/photo, resume, and your calendar to complete the rehearsal conflicts (YOU MUST FILL OUT A COMPLETE CONFLICT CALENDAR AT AUDITIONS).
