The story of Zorba, the carefree vagaband, and his chosen friend and master, the shy inhibited Nikos; the romance of Zorba with the lusty but aging Hortense, and of Nikos and the withdrawn but beautiful widow; the failutre of a mine, murder, suicide, a feud - Zorba has all of the popular ingredients for rousing theatre, plus a score from the creators of Caberet, Kiss of the Spider Woman, and Chicago.

A professor of screenwriting mentors a young student who is obsessed with Fred Astaire, which in turn rejuvenates his love for the art. Just when you think it's Bruce Graham at his humorous best with one-liners that make you laugh out loud - along comes the second act surprise. This turns out to be a play about change, about mid-life crises, and about Hollywood itself.

A delightfully thorny tale of working as Yuletide elf at Macy's. This holiday merriment by NPR favorite and best selling author David Sedaris tells of a slackers life as he takes out his frustrations on children and parents alike. The piece ends wtih yet another "Santa" being ushered to the throne, but unlike the lecherous or drunken others who have taken the seat, this one genuinely seems to care about the children, startling our hero into an uncharacteristic moment of holiday cheer. Hysterical satirical wit and good will prevail.

A popular
drama by Pulitzer Prize-winning Donald Margulies, which has recently become available,
and is being done around the country.
This family appropriate whimsical
fantasy about an unlikely hero in an incredible tale of shipwreck and survival
on a remote island is a show we really wanted to mount, and we couldn’t let the
opportunity pass us by when we learned it had become available. The
theatricality of the material and the creative staging should make for an
evening brimming with great storytelling and the magic of live theatre,
appropriate for all ages.

At the core of this tragedy are the three Magrath sisters, Meg, Babe and Lenny, who reunite at their home in Hazlehurst, Mississippi after Babe shoots her abusive husband. In the end, the play is the story of how its young characters escape the past to embrace the future - but the telling is so true and touching and consistently hilarious that it will linger in the mind long after the curtain has descended.

As he recovers, the creative block lifts, as he gains new insight that helps him to re-evaluate what's important in life.
