      THROWING SMOKE

THROWING SMOKE deals with the tragicomic problems of a minor league baseball coach, Earl, whose team is so dispirited by the opposing pitcher (who is "throwing smoke" that day) that most have decided to simply give up and go home. This hilarious and ultimately moving play is a meditation on the "love of the game" and what it takes to "play ball" every day.
