PUSH PHYSICAL THEATRE’S DRACULA
Blackfriars Theatre and PUSH Physical Theatre are seeking a male actor, late 20s to early 40s, for the role of Renfield in their touring and fall 2017 production of Dracula. THE PROCESS & REQUIREMENTS:
Rehearsals: April 24 through May 29, weekdays 9am-1pm | September 8-22 (possible times during summer)
Tours*: October 6-8 (possibly) | October 13-14 (confirmed) | October 15-20 (possibly) | October 20-22 (confirmed) | October 26-28 (confirmed) | February 9-13. 2018 (confirmed)
Blackfriars Tech: October 15-20 and/or October 22-26
Blackfriars Shows: October 31 through November 12
Renfield is a lead actor and sole voice actor in the play, serving as the voices for numerous other characters as well. The audition will consist of readings from the script (which will be provided in advance) and a movement segment (which will be taught at the audition).
The show will rehearse this spring (April through May, 2017) as PUSH is on hiatus during the summer months. This production is half remount / half original work and will need this spring to develop the show before their hiatus begins. The PUSH team and Renfield will come back together in the fall (September 2017) to brush up the production before it goes on tour in October and lands at Blackfriars for the 17-18 Season run.
*more tour shows could be added during the year.^role paid as follows: $200 per touring show (transportation, meals and accommodations are provided) and a modest stipend for Blackfriars run (Oct. 31-Nov. 12), with possible rehearsal stipend added.
